Get A Life Pet Rescue has a Safe for Life Sanctuary that we need ongoing funding for. These are pets with long-term care, quality of life, and challenged adoptions.

The fund, which is created by donations from people like you, has already saved the lives of rescued pets with cardiac, vision, behavior and senior related issues. These extensive treatments sometimes require hospital stays and extended time in foster care. In addition to their specific medical needs they acquire monthly heartworm prevention, grooming, special diets and medications.

Get A Life Pet Rescue volunteers are dedicated to each rescue pet which sometimes has conditions, that some rescues would not take on.

Safe for Life Sanctuary fund donations will go to the medical care and treatment of each pet and our amazing foster homes that will nurture them until they are able to go up for adoption.

Please won’t you help one of these special rescued pets with the treatment/surgery and care they need to get a chance for a loving forever home or forever foster care?

Raiden

Raiden Pomeranian, AKA Mr. Adorable is a prime example of a puppy mill dog, perfect looking with health issues. He came to us with seizures that he has seen two neurologists, an internist, and vets to diagnose the cause of the seizures without any conclusion. They have been able to suppress his seizures enough with medication in order for him to get neutered. He is currently on Keprah three times a day, (7am, 3pm, 11pm) and potassium bromide (compounded special order) twice a day at 7am and 6pm. He takes his meds in his prescription food which is low protein. He gets digestive enzymes, and a liver supplement daily to help his liver break down the food. He growls for all his emotions and can nip if you don’t understand his language.

Twinkles

Meet Twinkle, she is a 10 year old girl who came from a hoarding situation. She arrived in terrible conditions. Her hair smelled like urine and poop and her hair was severely matted. This tiny 6.5 lb girl has suffered so much. She has never interacted positively with humans so she is very scared. Extremely hard to see her shaking with fear when all you would like to do is love her.

She doesn’t come to you and she hides in the corner, under furniture, or under the blanket. No matter what you do, she is just terrified of humans. She is currently in a foster home where is learning to walk on a leash but all with some baby steps. She will require some long-term rehabilitation to help her understand that humans are good so for now she will continue to work with her foster parents.

Anastasia

Anastasia was dropped off to be euthanized at the county shelter before thanksgiving. They couldn’t even take her to their personal vet because they knew Anastasia didn’t deserve to die! Her previous people said she wouldn’t eat or drink, fell over often, and attacked their two newer fluffy puppies. The county vet did not agree that euthanasia was appropriate and Get a Life Pet Rescue was able to save her for the second time. (Yes, she was saved and adopted 12 years ago) She has luxating patellas but is super mobile.., a fatty tumor that does not need medical attention at this time. We got her dental cleaning, cardio workup, senior blood panel with urinalysis, as well as the other vetting to get her feeling revitalized. Now her name is Miss Sassy Pants, Sassy for short!

Asia

Meet our sweet frosted face girl, Asia! This precious Doxie Chihuahua Mix is looking for her perfect match. She needs a calm home willing to let her settle in patiently. She wants to be near you but she doesn’tneed constant attention. She willcuddle you and occasionallyshe will grant you a vert special kiss!. Her independent nature will provide loving companionship next to you in a non-needy way. Asia is looking for that special human who will provide love and comfort with a side of a little exercise. She enjoys short walks and or romps in the fenced yard. Asia is a healthy 13 year old ready for her new life. She loves her neck and chest rubbed, which gets her little leg moving with happiness.

Harrison

PLEASE READ HIS FULL BIO BEFORE APPLYING TO ADOPT! Happy boy Harrison is eager to win your heart! Harrison was turned over to the police and was on his way to a kill facility if we didn’t step up to save him. He has lower lumbar paralysis, meaning he can’t use his rear legs. He is also bladder and bowel incontinent, so his bladder needs to be manually expressed 4 plus times a day. His bowel movement releases on its own and you can manually speed the process most of the time. Harrison has no idea he is injured! He happily plays fetch and lives each day to the fullest. He is a wonderful companion for someone willing to keep up with his needs.
