LIFESAVER FUND

BAMSE'S PLEDGE BELOW

Get A Life Pet Rescue has a LIFESAVER Fund specifically for the care of our rescued pets with life threatening conditions and/or injuries. We rely solely on the generosity of our donors to help sponsor these pets who are in dire need of veterinary care. The LIFESAVER fund is 100% tax deductible and can be a one-time donation or a monthly donation automatically deducted from a credit card.

The fund has already saved the lives of rescued pets with heartworm disease, bronchial infections and or orthopedic injuries such as Luxating Patella surgery which can cost $800-$1500 per knee. These extensive treatments sometimes require hospital says and extended time in foster care.

Get A Life Pet Rescue volunteersare dedicated to each rescue petwhich every so often has conditions that would prove to be complex for most largerrescues with many animals in their care already. LIFESAVER fund donations willgo to the care and treatment of each pet and our amazing foster homes willnurture them until they are able to go up for adoption.

The chance of improving andsaving a life is a priceless reward. The moment the pet that benefited from the LIFESAVER FUND finds his/her adoptive person or family is one of the best momentsin a rescuer’s life.

Won’t you help one of thesespecial rescued pets with the treatment/surgery and care they need to get the chance they always deserved?

We are pleased to let you know
that we can now accept credit card donations.

Reika's Emergency

Posted by Tracey  at 11:08pm on July 3rd, 2010
Yesterday, July 2nd, Brendon Glambert ~GALPR’s Puppy Mill Spokes Dog posted that his best friend and the love of his life was facing an emergency! He asked for everyone’s help and prayers for her to recover from this emergency. Brendon later posted a series of MUST SEE photos of the pair at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid... with this statement: Two dogs from abusive and neglectful breeding facilities find true love together in their foster home! Brendon is from a puppy mill and Reika is from a high class home breeder who inbred dogs to make smaller pups for more money. This crazy breeding practice comes with consequences for dogs like Reika! She has congenital problems that most likely have been passed through her blood line to some, if not all of her pups that were sold at a Plantation puppy store and online.

July 3rd update: BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS REIKA MADE IT! The emergency hospital was able to get her blood pressure stable & gave diuretics for her heart. She was able to come home where she strutted around wagging her tail all happy like nothing ever happened! She still needs to sees a cardiologist on Tuesday. As far as her adrenal tumor- they have regulated her meds to hopefully reduce the frequency of her episodes. Like seizures, you never know when the next episode will come on.
Please see Brendon Glambert for his post of their loving photos. They will melt your heart.
Reika's vetting today was $1200. The emergency vets do not give rescues any discounts at all! This has been a major hit to our already nearly depleted funds. Please, Please, Please donate!!! No amount is too small ~ and all donations go to the medical expenses and care of Reika and the other dogs in our care.
Please remember Reika’s condition is the result of what a breeder did to her! She deserves a normal and happy life and now that she is in our care, she will not suffer nor will her life be cut short unnecessarily!

We deeply appreciate your support in our cause! We thank you for donating, inviting your friends to join or cause, for volunteering and for taking the time to read our posts! We are 100% volunteer run and need your continued support in any way you can! Please share Reika's story with everyone you know. Even if you are unable to donate -please help us make more people aware of the conditions the doggy parents face when creating the cute little pups in the pet stores and also what can be genetically passed on as a result! We do hope for your support in whatever way you are able!
Have a safe, holiday weekend! Remember to keep you pets safe too- fireworks can be very scary for them!

Did you know some companies provide “matching gifts” for the time their employee’s volunteer work? Some companies also provide grants to organizations at which their employees volunteer, as well as match their employees monetary donation!  Please check with your company and if they offer these options. We deeply appreciate your rescue efforts!
