From Puppy Mill to ROCK STAR

Brendon was one of 20+ Miniature Pinschers confiscated from a breeder by Animal Control. www.minpinrescue.org was fortunately able to take in most of the dogs and Get A Life Pet Rescue is vary proud to have been able to rescue these two shy babies, Brendon & Pixie. Brendon is about five years old and a total love, once he trusts you. Sadly he is not a social butterfly yet due to the abuse from his mill people he received growing up. Over the months in rehabilitation he is showing more emotions everyday! Pixie has been happily adopted and Brendon is overcoming his fears in the public eye!

He amazingly transforms into a more confident persona as he gets dressed up! This is what preempted his foster mom to enter him in “Dog Idol” (hypothetically) where he was able to share his vocal talents with the world. With his Glam Rock styling, signature guyliner and power vocals, “Brendon Glambert” was created. His first video was to a Led Zeppelin classic, “Whole Latta Love” Enjoy!

With all Brendon Glambert’s media attention, he wanted to share his life and educate people on the torturous conditions domestic companions are forced to live (if they make it) in Puppy Mills. He asked to produce a video showing where he came from, how people can change the laws, how to help other pets in need and how people and keep their furry companions healthy!

Brendon Glambert recently visited the doctor for what he thought was a cough from a cold! It turned out to be a slight heart condition! The star’s publicist reports that now Brendon is on medication, he has more energy and has lost a few pounds of water weight! The publicist confirmed Brendon is other wise healthy and will be able to keep promoting his album release! So Mr. Glambert was not just over indulging on the finer foods of life, as a former TMZ post referred to him as “Brendon Flabert”

Reika had to stay overnight at the vet and this is a photo of Brendon in one of their beds, facing the wall, crying for her! It was the saddest thing! She came home the next day and
he cuddled in bed with her, actually hugging her!

Reika came from a mass home breeder that did not touch the dogs often and left them in crates! The dogs were inbred, meaning mother & son mated leaving the pups with some mental and or congenital problems. As we learned of Reikas medical condition of a tumor on her adrenal gland we began to share the horrors of unethical breeders. Reika's breeder supplied a puppy store which has thankfully closed for selling unhealthy pups!

Reika has taken on the persona of Reika Gaga and has started a series of educational videos bringing awareness to what is meant by "local home breeders" that puppy stores refer to. Her main video is titled Speechless ~ A home breeding story.

We have received sad news on Reika Gaga’s health. This is our FaceBook post:

“Reika is in the emergency vet over night because her blood pressure dropped triggering loss of oxygen. Reika (sister to Chiquita & Carmella) is from a local home breeder that inbred the dogs to get smaller pups, which = congenital problems/deformities. The pups are sold with illegitimate PAPERS and the dog suffers for the breeders $$ gain. The signs of dysfunction don't usually show till about 8mos when organs mature. Most of these dogs are usually put to sleep cuz the owners don't want to or don't have the $ to help the dog. GALPR does EVERYTHING for our dogs with private donations. We don't get grants or government funding so 1 dog can wipe us out but we are saving & giving quality of life. Reika post Emergency Hospital going to our vet for a day of fluids & monitoring

Reika has been diagnosed with Canine Pheochromocytoma (tumor on adrenal gland) and its treatment is a risky surgery that may not even help her quality of life! We have her on proper medication to stabilize her and keep her comfortable. For the most part she is a normal girl on meds but her life expectancy is short. We will keep Reika in her foster home so she can be with Brendon till he is adopted. She will always have a home and proper medical care with GALPR.

Dog Scouts of America is beyond doggy obedience and socialization, they accomplish many tasks in various environments while having fun for dogs and their humans! Hiking and camping they do that too as well as help dog related causes in their local area! Today Brendon Glambert was asked to share Get A Life Pet rescue and a bit on his & Reika Gaga's stories. Two dogs from abusive and neglectful breeding facilities fiend true love together in their foster home! Brendon is from a puppy mill and Reika is from a high class home breeder who inbred dogs to make smaller pups for more money. This crazy act comes with consequences for the dogs, like Reika! She has congenital problems that have been passed through her blood line most likely to some if not all of her pups sold at a Plantation puppy store and online!

BLESS YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS MY REIKA MADE IT! The emergency hospital was able to get her blood pressure stable & gave diuretics for her heart. Then she was able to come home where she strutted around with her tail all happy like nothing ever happened! She see's a cardiologist Tuesday. As far as her adrenal tumor they have regulated her meds so she hopefully won't have as frequent episodes. They explained it like seizures, you never know when they come on. Hey puple it’s Reika Gaga here! I wanted to personally share the loss of my relative Baxter, whose photo was published in our Puppy Mill Awareness Day Flyer, just two weeks before he passed! He was fortunate to have been adopted to a compassionate family that made him an equal family member♥ He was only 7 years old ~ he didn’t even live HALF his Chihuahua life time!

National Puppy Mill Awareness Day is Saturday September 18th so Brendon is inviting you to our peaceful demonstration to share the horrors of puppy mills/hobby breeders!

We will have some signs available but encourage you to bring your own! Represent Your Cause!

The demo starts at 12pm on the sidewalk of 1630 South Federal Highway Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316 (954-629-2445) which is the North East corner of US-1 & 17th St. Cwsy. Ft. Lauderdale. Parking is available on 16th St. & 16th Ct. in the surrounding neighborhood.

In order to keep this demonstration organized PLEASE:
• We have informed the necessary authorities to hold this demonstration.
• We will be on the side walk of Federal Hwy (US-1) north of 17th Street Causeway, on the East side of the street between Hess gas and Mc Donald’s.
• Park on 16th St, 16th Ct and the surrounding area. Be careful not to block any driveways or park in restricted areas such as some of the plazas.
• Standing still with signs is a Demonstration. Walking/pacing is considered protesting. SO PLEASE STICK & STAY!
• Wear you rescue/shelter shirts to represent YOUR CAUSE. Use photos of those millers you have rescued.
• We encourage you to bring your own signs and be sure no to have anything hanging over the side walk.
• We don’t recommend you bringing dogs or small children but if you brings dogs make sure they are secure with a harness & leash/fastened in strollers. NO FLEXI LEADS!

Bless all of you for your support with compassionate prayers♥ Huge appreciation to Annette Gongora's Rescue Page, Sharee Fowler & Jennifer Silvey for helping me function through the fakakta day! It means so much! My Boo Boo is gone, it never should be that way! His loss is horrible as he was healthy on heart meds balanced with his herbs & supplements! He & Reika slept with me for 2 ½ years. My shy boy still had not overcome his abuse from the puppy mill but OH the joy when I would get that rare kiss! Every morning he would do his Doga- Downward Dog stretch by my side, I'd rub his squishy tushie & hoist him of f the bed. No words can say how cockamamie it is to have shared in such an awesome life & have it lost by something he ate! Sharee Fowler saved him I fell in love, he & Reika bonded & we embraced Daisy Min-Pin from our dear friend Naomi that has passed away. The 3 dogs were often together, but Brendon was always cuddling Reika. He got her through so many emergencies, so many attacks, I thought how he would be without her never this! My Boo Boo I don't know why I can't understand why my love my innocent baby boy gone♥ ~Stacy
